The Story Behind the Collaboration
The idea for LakaRaya started with one simple question:
What does Raya feel like, not just look like?
Instead of focusing only on festive colours and patterns, the team wanted to express the emotional side of Raya. The joy of returning home, the quiet moments before raya, during raya, night of raya and the comfort of being surrounded by loved ones.
@pauliticalart was chosen for his ability to tell stories through lines. His signature hand-drawn style brings honesty into every artwork. Together, we created a visual language that feels familiar, and deeply Malaysian.
Meet Paul, the Illustrator
Paul (@pauliticalart) is a Malaysian illustrator celebrated for his expressive hand-drawn style and storytelling approach. Drawing inspiration from culture, daily life, and emotion, his fluid lines and nostalgic visuals transform simple moments into meaningful works of art.
